The Season of CURE
It seems as if the world is moving so fast these days, and yet again we have reached the end of another tumultuous year filled with uncertainty and doubt. However, it has also been a year of unity, of rising together as one to fight against sickness and push towards a common goal of health. It has also been a time for celebration, for cherishing life and family, and of all of the simple things that we once took for granted.
As we approach this wonderful holiday season — a time filled with fun and hope, giving and caring, a time for family and friends, it is also important to remember those who are less fortunate than ourselves. There are many out there who are in need, who are struggling or sick, and this can be exacerbated over the holiday season.
CURE is always committed to helping those in need, and not just those in the US — as sickness and disease is of course a worldwide issue. That is why this holiday season one of the organizations the charity will be donating $2500 to is the Wallace and Gromit Grand Appeal – a charity located in Bristol city, United Kingdom. Sponsored by the famous British stop motion animated comedy franchise Wallace and Gromit, this wonderful organization does a myriad of incredible things with its donations. These include intensive medical research for cures and treatments, music, play and art therapy to help make poorly children feel more comfortable, buying state of the art equipment to save lives, and funding ‘Cots for Tots’, which provides free accommodation for parents who need to visit and stay near the specialist Bristol pediatric hospital when their children are sick.
Why have we chosen this smaller charity?
CURE is an avid supporter of all genuine charities, however, the truth is that sometimes when an organization is too big, the money can just be swallowed up and barely make a dent. By choosing a smaller charity to donate to, the money will have a vast impact and seriously help to provide the incredible organization with the valuable resources they need to ensure that it makes a tangible difference.
In addition, the project has donated a further $5,000 to the Family Reach organization, through their Hope for the Holidays campaign, which financially supports struggling families who have children with cancer to take away the stress of bills, so that they can focus on helping their sick loved-ones heal in the comfort of their own homes. The only reason that CURE has been able to raise over $400,000 dollars for charity and make fantastic donations like these — ones that support incredible charities, research facilities and cancer sufferers themselves — is because of our amazing community who continue to purchase CURE Tokens and support the project.
